Hiring: jobs and resumes in the chat
Telybot Hiring lets people apply for your jobs in the chat: the bot asks your questions and takes the resume, and each applicant is scored against the job.
Every applicant lands in one list, and the score is a guide: a person always decides. You find it all under Hiring in the dashboard: Jobs, Candidates and Settings.
Hiring is an add-on. It comes with the Scale plan and with Enterprise. On Starter or Growth you add it from the Plan page for a monthly price, and it renews with your plan in the same payment.
Add a job
- Open Hiring → Settings and switch on Offer your open jobs in the chat.
- Open Hiring → Jobs and press New job. Give it a title, where the person works, the kind of job and, if you like, the pay.
- Under What you are looking for, list the must-have and nice-to-have skills, the minimum years of experience and the education you need. Each resume is scored against these.
- Add up to ten Screening questions. Tick an answer as Does not meet the job to flag it: the application is still taken, and you decide.
- Save. Press Share job to copy the job's link, download its QR code, or copy the snippet for your careers page.
Import jobs from your files
Telybot can read the jobs you already have and fill them in for you: job descriptions, a spreadsheet of openings, or photos of a job advert or poster. Each job it finds becomes a draft for you to check.
- Open Hiring → Jobs and press Import jobs.
- Drop up to ten files, or paste the text of a job advert. PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), CSV, text files and photos all work.
- Press Read with AI. Reading takes from a few seconds to a minute.
- Each job appears on Hiring → Jobs under Drafts to check, with its title, place, pay, description, skills, experience, education and up to three screening questions.
- Press Review draft to check a job and change anything, then Publish it. Publish all publishes every draft at once.
A draft is never offered to candidates, and its pay stays hidden until you tick Show the pay to candidates. A job you already have with the same title and place is skipped, so you can import the same spreadsheet again after adding rows. One import adds up to 30 jobs, and you can import ten times a day. A scanned PDF has no text to read: import photos of its pages instead.
What does the applicant see?
Someone who opens the job's link, or asks your bot "are you hiring?" or "any vacancies for SDE 2?", sees the jobs as cards, the one they named first, and taps Apply. The bot then asks, one step at a time:
- whether they agree to your notice about how their details are used and how long they are kept. Nothing is kept from anyone who says no;
- their resume, a PDF or Word file sent with the paperclip. The bot reads it and fills in their name, email, phone, city and years of experience from it;
- only what the resume did not say: a missing phone number, how soon they can start, and your screening questions.
At the end they get a reference, such as APP-1042. Later they can ask the bot for the status of their application, and they hear "received", "being reviewed", "shortlisted" and so on, never "not selected".
Prefer the bot to ask every question first and take the resume last? Under Hiring → Settings → How people apply, choose Questions first.
Help people find the job that fits them
Someone with seven years of experience should not end up applying for a junior role. A visitor who is not sure which of your jobs suits them can ask the bot "which job fits me?", tap Which job fits me? under the greeting, or tap Not sure which one? Send your resume under the job cards.
- The bot asks them to agree to a short notice, then to send their resume.
- It reads the resume and compares it with every open job, the same way it scores an application: the skills the job asks for, the years of experience, the education.
- It answers with the roles that fit best, each marked Strong fit or Possible fit with the skills it matched. The most senior role they qualify for comes first.
- Apply on one of those cards starts the application with the resume already attached and their details filled in: they agree to your notice, answer your screening questions, and are done.
The visitor never sees a number or the word "weak"; when nothing fits well, they see the two nearest roles and can still apply for any job. On Candidates, such an application says From a resume check, and the drawer lists the other open jobs the resume fit under Also fits. Switch the check off under Hiring → Settings if you do not want it. Each check counts as one of the add-on's monthly resume reads; a check that does not become an application is deleted after 30 days.
Review candidates and their score
Each resume is read within a minute or two. Candidates lists everyone who applied, with filters for the job, the stage and the score, a search box and an export to a spreadsheet. Open a candidate to see:
- The score from 0 to 100, with the parts it is made of: must-have skills, experience, nice-to-have skills, education, screening answers and the resume itself. Strong is 75 or more, Possible 50 to 74, Weak under 50;
- Best at: the technologies the resume shows most, each with the line of the resume that shows it;
- Strengths, Gaps and notes about the resume, their answers, and the other jobs they applied for;
- buttons to move them to the next stage, add a note, download the resume, open the chat or delete the candidate.
The score is a screening aid. It only reads skills, roles, dates, education and the resume itself, never anything about the person, and it never rejects anyone: a person decides.
Get alerts for new applications
WhatsApp alerts on the Candidates page sends a WhatsApp message to your own phone for each new application: the job and its reference, with a link, never the candidate's name or details. It is the same switch as on the Orders page, and each team member turns it on for themselves. Email me about each new application, under Settings, tells the team by email.
Who on your team sees what?
The owner and admins see everything. Editors manage jobs but do not see candidates. Agents see and move candidates but do not edit jobs.
How long are applications kept?
You choose how long applications are kept after a job is filled or a candidate is not selected: 30, 90 or 180 days, a year, or until you delete them. A candidate can withdraw in the chat, and you can delete a candidate at any time; either way their details and resume are erased.
