# Install in your Android app — Telybot docs - URL: https://telybot.com/docs/install-android - Last updated: 2026-10-12 ## Install in your Android app Your assistant can live inside your own app, using the same key and the same training as your website. Nothing to re-set-up. ### What the SDK actually is It opens the hosted chat page — the same one your bot link uses — inside a WebView, with native presentation, keyboard handling and back-button behaviour around it. We say that plainly because it decides things for you: a change you make in your dashboard is live in your app **immediately, with no app-store release**, and the chat looks and behaves identically on every platform. The trade-off is that it needs a connection; there is no offline mode. ### Add the dependency ```kotlin // settings.gradle.kts dependencyResolutionManagement { repositories { google() mavenCentral() maven("https://jitpack.io") } } ``` ```kotlin // app/build.gradle.kts implementation("com.github.telybotai:telybot-Sdks:v0.2.0") ``` Requires **minSdk 21**. The library brings no third-party dependencies of its own. ### Two lines ```kotlin // Once — Application.onCreate() or the activity that opens the chat KeydaBot.init(this, "kb_live_your_key_here") // From your Help or Contact button KeydaBot.show(this) ``` That is the whole API. There is also `KeydaBot.dismiss()` and `KeydaBot.isShowing` if you need to close the chat yourself. ### Pointing it somewhere else ```kotlin KeydaBot.init(this, "kb_live_your_key_here", baseUrl = "https://telybot.com") ``` You only need this for a staging environment or a self-hosted install. ### What it does for you - **Links open outside the chat.** Anything that navigates away from your chat opens in the browser instead, so a customer never loses their conversation. - **The keyboard never covers the input.** - **A failed load shows a retry**, not a crash. Your users are not our users. - **No analytics and no device identifiers.** Adding the SDK does not add a tracker to your app. ### If the bot is in draft The chat greets the customer and then says it is not available. Go live from **Overview** in your dashboard and it starts answering — again, with no app release.
